The Energy Efficiency Fund is appealing to the government to continue its funding. Along with a hundred communities and civil society organizations, they have requested 1 billion hryvnias for the Fund’s financing in 2025.
Without state funding in 2025, the Energy Efficiency Fund will be forced to stop accepting new applications for its programs (‘Energodim’, ‘VidnovyDIM’, ‘GreenDIM’), which means:
- fewer insulated buildings – higher heating bills;
- lack of support for condominiums wishing to improve their energy efficiency;
- slowed recovery of housing damaged by the war.
The Energy Efficiency Fund is the only state mechanism that helps condominiums and Ukrainians insulate their homes, reduce energy consumption, and save on utility bills. The European Commission is prepared to consider additional contributions to the Fund, but only if Ukraine provides its own funding share.
Thanks to the Fund’s support, more than 700 multi-story buildings that were damaged during the war have already been restored. Last year, the Fund also launched the ‘GreenDIM’ program, allowing condominiums to receive compensation for 70% of the cost of solar power plants or heat pumps.
Energy efficiency is not only about comfort but also a strategic solution for Ukraine’s energy security! We hope the government supports the request of the Ukrainian people.
